We are seeking a reliable, compassionate Home Support Worker / Caregiver to assist with the daily care of our elderly parents in a private home setting.
The role involves providing personal care, household support, meal preparation, and transportation assistance to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, hygiene, and mobility support when needed
Assist with safe mobility and transfers, including support when walking or entering/exiting vehicles
Prepare specialized meals daily, including:
Caribbean-style meals tailored to cultural preferences
Two separate meals when required to meet individual dietary needs
Diabetic-friendly and kidney-conscious meal preparation
Perform household duties, including:
Cleaning and tidying living areas
Laundry and dishwashing
General home organization and upkeep
Provide transportation support, including:
Driving to medical appointments
Accompanying to church and community activities
Running errands as needed
Provide companionship, reminders for medication, and general supervision for safety
Requirements:
Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive locally
Experience in elderly care or home support work
Ability to prepare specialized and culturally appropriate meals (Caribbean cuisine preferred)
Experience with housekeeping and household management
Comfortable providing personal care and mobility assistance
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient attitude
Reliability and respect for privacy and dignity of elderly clients
